Video filmed in Montreal by the brilliant Romain Marie-Aubrey!

The Old River … Source … Godstuff … God … Science … Music … Truth … Wisdom … It has many names

And I’ve been searching for it in all the wrong places my whole life. This song is a prayer to that old river. Help me surrender! To feel the hard feelings. Not to numb or stuff them. Not to act them out. Not to keep running away. It’s so simple but SO counter to what we’re swimming in.

This is a cover of Mia Pixley’s song “Watering” as part of a series I did in 2020 + 2021 covering songs by independent artists driven by that same kind of fierce love for humanity that i feel and am driven by… our BIG WHY. Contrary to what we’re told… we’re not supposed to know exactly how to get there on our own. I reject individualism and know-it-all-ism and the idea of who’s right and who’s wrong, and

I embrace the irresistible power of collective imagination

this video was filmed in 2013 at a dearly-loved venue that used to be called viracocha. the song was inspired by the IDLE NO MORE movement and indigenous wisdom of interdependence and connection. when we listen we hear it in our cells. a deep love for the water that moves through all of us, that was with me in every cell since the day i was born and will carry me to the Great Ocean the day i die. know what i mean?
